As the largest firm in the industry founded and run by a woman, Diversified Search is committed to and understands the need for strong, thorough, and effective diversity initiatives. We believe, both for our own staff and for the recruitment of professionals on behalf of our client organizations, that preparing an organization for diversity is more than the simple achievement of quotas. Diversity management requires a mindset that allows an organization to be responsive and receptive to the individual contributions of diverse members of under represented classes to organization and communities of all kinds. Further, diversity is mandatory for organizations to be competitive and effective, as the modern workforce continues to become more widely represented.
Our diversity policy, developed in accordance with the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC), can be summarized as follows:

On each search assignment, research associates are required to consult our internal resource library and appropriate external resources for potential sources and prospective diversity candidates.

As part of our quality initiative, we employ a peer review process that examines each search's candidate composition with respect to diversity representation and gauges the effort that was made to identify diversity candidates.

On every search assignment, each consultant team must track its diversity effort and report the results of those efforts at the conclusion of the search.

Diversified Search’s commitment to diversity goes beyond the active introduction of minority candidates into the candidate pool. We have been asked to serve on the Diversity Taskforce for a national faith-based healthcare organization. We have also served as consultants to organizations interested in understanding and developing a proactive approach to diversity—and then implementing an action plan.

Additionally, through the consulting that goes hand-in-hand with executive search, we continually encourage our clients to broaden their perspective with regard to women and minorities in executive positions.

Historically, Diversified Search has completed one-third of middle management searches and one-quarter of senior management searches with an appointment of a woman or racial minority.
